Thing 7: Communication Tools

I already had experience with several of these tools: e-mail from a couple of different hosts; chat - not something I would use often for work in children's services at a public library, but I can see it for reference; Texting - I don't have a cell phone, but even if I did I don't think I would add on this feature. Webinar - I have participated in a group webinar, but have also signed up for one personally through Minitex. Meebo is cool, but again not something I would use in children's services at this time.

Thing 6 - Create a Trading Card - done

This was easier to do after the "toy" I created in thing 5. Still, when I saved my creation, I had no idea where it saved to, and so redid the card and shared it directly from the website where it was created.

Thing 5 finished

This was fun but time consuming. What I really learned was how to post something from Flickr (or other web photos)onto my blog. The cube I created has to be printed and folded, so not exactly what I was thinking I was doing. But it is cool - I will print it sometime and fold it.

Flickr

I explored Flickr today. It meant yet another e-mail address, but worth it to join the 23 things group on this photo sharing. I uploaded some photos from a couple of recent library events, which I put in sets and tagged. It was fun, and I think useful, but quite time consuming to title, tag and describe.
